What tafsir is not

ما ليس بتفسير

Fi Zilal al-Quran (Sayyid Qutb) and Tafhim al-Quran (Mawdudi) are famous in the last century. They are dawah and thought. They are not the first books a student of tafsir is given after Tabari and Ibn Kathir. Nur does not open them under the ayah. If you want them, a printed set is the honest way.

The Quran is enough. These commentaries are servants. If a servant disagrees with a clear ayah or a sahih hadith, keep the ayah.
