وفاة النبي ﷺ

Tabari’s pages on the illness, the last prayer, the choice Abu Bakr was given to lead, the death in Aishah’s house, and the burial in that room, are among the most read in the Tarikh. The sahihayn carry the same hours. Read them together.
He ﷺ said: Allah has given a servant the choice between this world and what is with Him, and that servant has chosen what is with Allah. Abu Bakr wept. The people were surprised. The Prophet ﷺ said: Close the doors that open onto the mosque except the door of Abu Bakr.

Aishah: he ﷺ died between my lungs and my throat, and Allah mixed my saliva with his in the last hour.

How to weigh this
The dispute of the burial-place and who washed him is a known sirah-file. Tabari reports. The room of Aishah is the sahih place of the grave.
