Hudaybiyyah and the Opening
الحديبية والفتح
Year 6. They came for umrah and were stopped. The treaty looked like a loss. The Quran called it a clear opening. Abu Bakr steadied those who shook. Two years later the treaty was broken. He ﷺ entered Makkah with his head bowed. He ﷺ struck the idols. He ﷺ said: truth has come, and falsehood has vanished. He ﷺ pardoned the house of his enemies: go, you are free.

The ummah still misreads a delay as a defeat. Hudaybiyyah is the tafsir of that mistake.
