The installed and the lowered nouns

المنصوبات والمخفوضات

Installed chairs include the object (maf'ul bihi), the time and place (maf'ul fihi), the with-object, the for-object, the absolute object, the exception, the haal (state), the tamyiz (specifying word), the vocative in some shapes, the noun of inna, the predicate of kana, and the follower of an installed noun.

Lowered chairs are three: lowered by a particle, lowered by idafa, and lowered because it follows a lowered noun.

  1. مفعول به

    Object

The one the verb landed on. Installed: قرأ الكتابَ.

  2. حال

    Haal

How the doer or object was while the act happened: جاء راكباً.

  3. تمييز

    Tamyiz

A word that lifts the vagueness of a measure or number: عشرون كتاباً.

Quran

1:6 again

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ — sirata is the object, installed. al-mustaqima follows it as an adjective, so it is also installed. Followers copy the chair.

If two nouns share a chair, the second is often a follower. Check agreement in i'rab before you invent a new job.
