Classroom creeds of later lands

النسفية والسنوسية والجوهرة

Later teaching texts used from Bukhara to Fez to al-Azhar. A new Muslim does not start here. If you live in those lands you will meet these books. Meet them with respect.

1. The Nasafi Creed

   العقيدة النسفية

   Abu Hafs al-Nasafi (died 537 AH)

   The Maturidi classroom text. Taftazani’s explanation is the usual door.

2. The Mother of Proofs

   أم البراهين

   al-Sanusi (died 895 AH)

   The North African beginner text. Still taught in the west of the Muslim world.

3. The Jewel of Oneness

   جوهرة التوحيد

   Ibrahim al-Laqani (died 1041 AH)

   A poem. Bajuri’s notes are how al-Azhar used to read it.
